Looking Ahead and Bidding Adieu

I think Nupur had the brainwave of the year with her event, Best of 2007! Anyway, I think a lot of us would have done it but this way, we are all on board.

So here is my round up for the year. 2007 has been an awesome year professionally, very slow year personally but some nice things did happen, but the year has been best for blogging. I already had a personal journal and it took some thought before I started this one. Shaheen's blog was my inspiration and the first food blog I came across.

Here are some highlights from the year.

- The first post looks silly and so kiddish now. I laugh when I think back to the amount of time it took me to decide how I will write 'ingredients' and 'method'. I wanted a unique style and finally settled on 'What I Used' and 'How I Made It'.

- My proudest moment was when I baked my first loaf of bread. That's also the post with the most number of comments.

This recipe goes to Zorra's Best of 2007, Food Blogger's Collection.

- The most popular post has consistently been The 30-Minute Kerala Meal which was also an entry to Shaheen's Express Meals Event. I guess it shows that people are interested in Kerala meals but want it done fast.

- This is the post that surprised me the most because of the popularity and consistently holding second place in number of visits. The recipe is definitely simple enough and I posted it mostly because I was just in the mood.

- The most fun post because of the way I made it and the way it reminds me of my event-craziness! Also the second highest with respect to number of comments (Obviously, I love getting comments!!)

- The most special post. I cooked for my birthday. I would have never done it if the alluring thought of taking pics and blogging about the whole thing hadn't prodded me on.

- One of the major achievements is definitely hosting my own event and WBB #17. I really value the experience.

Then there are many many more things to say and I could go on. I am happy about the way in which my photography skills have grown from this to this. I learnt a lot from some remarkably skilled bloggers and the resources they pointed me to.

2008. Its going to be MY YEAR :D For many reasons. Expect some unique recipes, a lot of experimenting, better pictures and more event participation and hosting, if that's possible.

So here is me signing off for the year. Nupur, please take in this entry of mine :)

Have a wonderful new year, everyone!
