Jugalbandi is one of my favourite blogs. For a variety of reasons. So when they started their monthly food photography event and aptly named it 'Click', I was pretty excited. I was already a fan of their beautiful pics and tried to draw inspiration from them. Now we are going to have all those great pics in one place.
The first theme was 'eggs' and I clicked close to 50 pics of eggs on different days, in different ways. None of them satisfied me and I ended up not sending in any.
Then came 'noodles'. I went wild this time and had close to 100 pics by the end of the 20 days and still didn't find one I thought was good enough to send in. I was kicking myself for not thinking 'out of the box' and for not having those brilliant yet simple ideas that most in the blogosphere seemed to find came as second nature to them.
When the 'nuts' theme was introduced, I made a decision. It doesn't matter if my pic sucked. It doesn't matter if the lighting is not right, that I didn't have fancy crockery, that my camera is a $120 one or that I didn't even know what 'exposure time' meant. I still don't by the way.
The only thing that mattered was participation. Doing my two bits. And here it is this time. It took me over an hour to set up the black background, choose the bowls and select the prettiest of the nuts from the packet. I clicked 43 pics, chose this one, edited it the best I knew and off it went.
